Just Out Of the Hospital (or Why You Haven’t Heard From Me in 2 Weeks)

Normally I write you once a week on Wednesdays some inspiration, unfiltered writing or share some yummy offering. Well, a bit over a week ago I got this cold that turned into an earache that turned into a sinus infection that turned into pneumonia. It was kinda like that old lady that swallowed a fly and eventually ended up swalling a cow.

I’ve been taking real good self-care lately and without going into too many details, let’s just say I had some energetic boundaries crossed that turned this from a simple cold into laid out in th hospital with pneumonia. Thank God for my Mother-in-Law who drove me to the ER (and wouldn’t take no for an answer) and to my energy healers who used their mojo to get my (energetic) body back to her happy place.

There were a couple days in the hospital that were real scary for me. As many of you  know my Mom passed of cancer when I was 13. As I was laying in the ER with IVs in my arms in major pain, all I could think was… tell Tony not to bring the kids. I didn’t want them seeing me in so much pain all hooked up to IVs and oxygen. It reminded me of when I went to see my Mom in the hospital after her first seizure (and first diagnosis of cancer).

The hospital isn’t the prettiest place. I think those who build hospitals are thinking of hospital monitors and keeping things aesthetically clean. My friend Allyson and I were joking they should make oxygen tubes in fun colors… like the rubber bands in braces. Color the place up a bit.

The first thing I asked my husband for (besides my cell phone to let people know I was okay) was my Smashbook (aka Art Journal), crayons and paints. I needed something to do to express how I was feeling, something to support my healing besides the antibiotics, tylonol and breathing treatments… something for the healing of more than my body.

Art is healing. I believe creating is one of the most important things we are meant to do on the planet.

When I’ve been in deep mourning, grieving,
Angry, upset and mad,
Confused and unclear,
Wanting peace,
I go to art.

And in those times it isn’t about creating a masterpiece or technique. It is about learning something new about myself.

If you’ve been feeling a tug to explore your creative side or surround yourself with other creatives, I want you to see this. I am sharing on…

ART is one of my deepest callings and helping women find their creative voice is my mission so when I originally spoke with Bebe Butler and she shared how ART has helped her in her own healing path, I thought I HAVE to share this message. We have to get the word out.

Here are some of my favorite things we cover over the event…
  • How to discover your voice and feel authentic in your expression
  • How to create intuitively and honestly to awaken freedom on the canvas and in life
  • How to use life stories as well as imagery and symbols in your creations (you can bet your tata my hospital stay will be showing up in my work)

If you’ve been longing to commune with other creatives and take your art to a new level, this is so.for.you. This will change the way you create!

The online event is FREE so…. Treat your body, mind, heart and soul. Grab a cup of tea (or wine), your journal and meet me here: www.thepaintedguru.com/amberkuileimailanibonnici
