What Hula and Living Your Purpose Have in Common

During a hula practice last week my Kumu (teacher) mentioned something that made me think of mothers and our journey of transformation.

There is a time to take care of yourself and just be in your own process and there is a time to open up and share. When we’ve healed enough, we can share.

Sometimes we want to jump ahead… to go faster than we’re moving. We’re not happy where we’re at.

I remember feeling like I just HAD to figure out my purpose and share it with the world. I would live my mission if I just knew WHAT I was supposed to do.

Life doesn’t just hand us the answers.

We have to go on our own journey of self-discovery.

I had to learn to love myself enough to teach others to do the same. I had to discover my own dreams and passions in order to help other women discover theirs. I had to dream big in order to hold a big vision for my clients.

Where are you at? The mechanics, discovering deeper meaning or sharing? Where do you want to be a year from now?

Leave a comment below. Tell me where you’re at now and where you want to be.
